BCI requires a set of “FBI quality” fingerprints on a blue FD-258 card. All prints must be readable with no smudges or smears. BCI will not process an application with poor quality fingerprints. Arrangements can be made to have fingerprints and photographs taken during the class for a small additional charge.
Fingerprints can also be obtained for a fee from any local police or sheriff’s department. Most departments have a specified time when they will take your prints. A telephone call to the local department is recommended to schedule this service.
Otherwise, fingerprints can be taken at BCI, (3888 W. 5400 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84118). BCI takes the prints electronically. These prints are read and accepted at once. Cost on this service is $13.
